Thicker stock, card

After using some thinner stock i felt that using card could be a better option for the packaging as it would hold the product more securely. However using this material to print onto i have found the image becomes more dull especially when yellow is printed onto it. As one of my characters colour is prodomatley yellow i will have to change it to a more appropriate colour.
I have found when putting the net together scoring the card with a bone on the inside makes a neat score where as scoring the outside teared the card.

Promotional masks

I have designed masks 'the fernando masks' to promote the fernando brother vinyl toys. I have designed one for each of the three characters. The mask comes inside a plastic seal bag with a header on top with title and artwork. Each bag comes with a vinyl sticker and their are instructions that tell you how to cut out your fernando mask safely.

Spot varnish?

A possible print process for the packaging could be spot varnish, i feel if i was to use this onto the packaging, it would work best on the characters. Below i have done some tests. I have stuck vinyl stickers onto the packaging and then laminated over that sticker and also cut out the shape of the character in laminate and then stuck this onto the packaging.

Stickers

I have printed some vinyl stickers both of the full body of the character and just the face, i will be putting some of these vinyl stickers in to the box but i am also thinking of using these stickers to put onto the packaging.

Newsprint stock

I have printed a net onto a newsprint stock for a test, the artwork has print clear and the colour is vibrant however when making the net into the box i found that the stock is too thin and would not be ideal for holding the product and contents.
